Do you care where your food comes from? Do you care who grows it? Would you like to enjoy fresh produce locally grown by your fellow Romanian peasants? Would you like it delivered to your doorstep every week? If so, please read on :)

Cutia Taranului hopes to restore a precious, traditional and reliable relationship between Romanians who grow food in the village and you, Romanians who live in the city who rely on it to nourish yourselves. Our wish is to make it possible for you to find and connect with a local peasant family who will happily supply you with fresh produce every week.

Cutia Taranului is slightly different then shopping with a list. The contents of the box may change from time to time based on the generosity of Mother Earth and seasonal changes throughout the year. The total weight of the box will always be the same but it may, for example, have a few more tomatoes and a few less carrots. The contents of every Cutia Taranului is a direct reflection of what comes from the earth and how it is worked by the peasants who’s produce you buy.

Cutia Taranului is currently getting started. We are currently working with one peasant-family, our neighbors, to provide produce to the city of Cluj. Together with them we are trying to figure out what is the best way to do this. If you have any ideas, wishes of feedback please do contact us.
Select a box. Browse the boxes available in your area and select one that suits you best. Please keep in mind that the contents of a box may vary slightly depending on what nature provides and when it provides it.
Fill a form. Tell us how you can be contacted and where you’d like to have the box delivered.
Wait for a phone call. A grateful peasant who’s box you selected will call you within a few days to say hello, let you know that he knows of your request and that your personal details are correct.
Wait for a knock at your door. Every week a fresh box of produce will be delivered to your doorstep.
